In accordance with the guidelines set forth by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), the West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE) is pleased to announce the schedule for the Teacher Eligibility Test-2023 (TET-2023) for primary teachers in the state of West Bengal. This announcement is made in the exercise of the Board's statutory powers.
Eligibility Criteria:
As per the NCTE notification dated 25/08/2010 with 29/07/2011, candidates who possess the following educational and professional qualifications are eligible to apply for TET-2023:
Qualifications for Eligibility to Apply TET-2023:
1. Two years Diploma in Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) and Primary Education with at least 50% marks, or
2. Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) and a four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) with at least 50% marks, or
3. Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) and a Diploma in Education with at least 50% marks, or
4. Graduation and a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by any name known).
Note: Candidates from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC-A and OBC-B), Exempted Category (EC), Ex-Serviceman Category, Differently Abled Category (DAC), and DH (Die-in-Harness) category candidates enjoy a 5% relaxation in marks (i.e., 45%) for Senior Secondary or its equivalent examination.
Candidates who have appeared in the final examination of two-year D.El.Ed., four-year B.El.Ed., two-year D.Ed. (Special Education) from NCTE recognized institutions, or those currently pursuing D.El.Ed./D.Ed. (Special Education)/four-year B.El.Ed. NCTE/RCI accredited courses in institutions are also eligible to apply.
